San José Southside Police Substation | City of San José
Initial Study

The City of San José passed the Neighborhood Security Act Bond Measure in 2002 to construct a new police substation. The City then purchased a 12-acre parcel from Hitachi Global Storage Technologies Inc. to develop a state-of-the-art police substation in south San José.

DJP&A completed the Initial Study for the three-story, 120,000 square foot police substation building on Great Oaks Boulevard near Monterey Highway that would provide faster response times to the south end of the City. The Southside Police Station was completed in 2010 and achieved LEED certification, with the incorporation of green building measures including a green roof.
