SAP Center (San José Arena) | City of San José

Constructed in 1993, the SAP Center hosts a huge variety of both sporting and non-sporting events year-round. The iconic arena is the home of the San José Sharks hockey team as well as music events, trade shows, and family events throughout the year. The SAP Center has been nominated for the “Arena of the Year” award twice, and has been recognized as having one of the highest non-sports attendance, not only North America, but around the world as well.

Environmental review for the project was completed in 1989 and the project broke ground in June of 1990. Construction of the arena took three years to complete and remains largely unchanged since it first opened.
