Samsung Group is one of the world’s leading technology conglomerates and employs over 275,000 employees globally. With rapid growth occurring among many of the biggest technology firms in Silicon Valley, Samsung Semiconductor Inc., the world’s largest manufacturer of memory and logic semiconductors, was seeking to provide a 21st century headquarters for its expanding workforce.
DJP&A was hired by global architecture firm NBBJ to complete the environmental review for construction of the ten-story, 680,000 square foot office/R&D facility. Located on a 9.5-acre site in the “Golden Triangle” area of North San José, the cutting-edge project was carefully designed to incorporate elements of environmental stewardship and eco-friendliness. From solar photovoltaics covering the nine-story parking structure to porous paving in common areas, the development is a shining example of how to achieve beauty and functionality while minimizing environmental impacts.
Principal Project Manager Akoni Danielsen completed the project’s environmental approvals process in under six months, keeping the project on schedule and on budget.
