Santa Rosa BPOC | City of Santa Rosa

Initial Study/Categorical Exemption

In 2021, the City of Santa Rosa, in coordination with the California Department of Transportation, approved a new 17-foot-wide Class I bicycle and pedestrian shared-use overcrossing spanning U.S. 101 along the Edwards Avenue/Elliott Avenue corridor. The overcrossing will provide a much-needed connection between the Guerneville Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit Station, Coddingtown Mall, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and low and medium-density residential on the west side of U.S. 101 and the Santa Rosa Junior College campus, single-family homes, and public agency offices on the eastside of U.S. 101.

DJP&A completed the Initial Study and Categorical Exclusion for this project. The primary environmental issues of concern included aesthetics, biological resources, paleontological resources, hazardous waste, community impact assessment, and noise.
