Santa Clara 2010-2035 General Plan Update | City of Santa Clara

Program Environmental Impact Report

The City of Santa Clara is a mix of modern development with high tech companies and a historic community rich in cultural heritage. For example, the City is home to Levi’s Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers, and global companies like Intel, McAfee, and Nvidia, as well as Santa Clara University (founded in 1851), the historic Mission Santa Clara de Asis (1776), and prehistoric Native American settlements.

The 2010-2035 General Plan Update enacts policies designed to guide future development in the City of Santa Clara, while protecting the cultural resources that help provide the City with its unique character we appreciate today. DJP&A prepared the EIR for the project, assisting the City in the development of the General Plan Update and carefully mediating growth with protection of cultural resources. The EIR also forecasted the City’s future greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions based on quantitative modeling for the years 2020 and 2035 per State GHG goals, and identified strategies and measures to limit the City’s GHG emissions and contributions to climate change.
