Middlefield Park Master Plan | City of Mountain View

Supplemental Environmental Impact Report

In November 2022, Google and Lendlease were approved to redevelop a 40-acre industrial park in the East Whisman Precise Plan area of Mountain View, adjacent to the Middlefield Light Rail Station, with up to 1.3 million square feet of office uses, 1,900 residential units, and 50,000 square feet of commercial uses. At buildout, the project will also include over 10 acres of public park and privately owned, publicly accessible open space, roadway improvements, on- and off-street bicycle and pedestrian improvements, landscaping, and trees.

As an option, a private, district utility system could be developed on-site to provide wastewater treatment, recycled water, thermal energy, and electric power.

DJP&A prepared a Supplemental EIR for the project which tiered from the adopted 2019 East Whisman Precise Plan EIR (which DJP&A also prepared). While the project was consistent with the Precise Plan policies, development standards, growth projections, the large scale of development proposed resulted in new significant and unavoidable, project-level impacts related community health risks and operational air pollutant emissions.
