DJP&A specializes in wide variety of projects that require compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) or National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), including more uncommon ones such as stadium and field lighting projects. Over the years, DJP&A has prepared environmental documents for stadium and field lighting projects for Red Morton Community Park, Silver Creek High School, Skyline High School, Valley Christian Schools, Castlemont High School, James Lick High School, Santa Teresa High School. Santa Clara High School, and Oakland High School, amongst others.
Field lighting projects for community parks and high schools are generally located in residential areas and, thus, have the potential to affect nearby sensitive uses. DJP&A works closely with the lead agency to ensure that the proposed lighting will not have significant impacts on the surrounding neighborhood; typical environmental issues include aesthetics, land use, noise, and transportation impacts.
In addition to helping prepare CEQA and NEPA compliance documents, DJP&A is also available to help facilitate discussion between the lead agency and members of the public during community meetings or hearings. Together, team members Demetri Loukas and Judy Shanley have successfully completed multiple field lighting projects and are knowledgeable about the nuances involved in such projects.
